First Signs of Pregnancy

First Signs of Pregnancy

There are many signs of pregnancy and it varies from woman to woman. Whether we’re trying to get pregnant or on birth control, it is important that we know the first signs of pregnancy. Although each pregnancy is different, these signs happen to almost all pregnant women.

Missed Period

Missed Period is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy, especially for those women with regular periods. A woman might be feeling some cramps but would wonder why their period still hasn’t come. Missed period while pregnant sometimes feels like you’re on your period but actually not on your period.

Nausea and/or vomiting

Another early sign of pregnancy is nausea or vomiting. Some women might notice that they’d start hating their favourite food and would feel like throwing up when they smell/taste it. Some pregnant women, on the other hand, feel like they’re having seasickness.

Mood Swings

Due to the pregnancy hormones, expect a pregnant woman to be overly happy now and too dramatic later on. Mood swings are another early pregnancy symptom.

Positive pregnancy tests

Did you know that pregnancy tests are also different? Their sensitivity varies. Some pregnancy tests detect lower levels of hCG that allows for a positive reading up to 5 days before a missed period.

While things vary woman to woman and even pregnancy to pregnancy, the joy of life is an exciting time for all parents.
