New Routines, New Success

School is back in session! Play grounds are empty during the day, the streets are quieter, and home schoolers are busier! How do you adjust to starting up again after 2 months of lazy summer days? It can be hard to get back into the swing of things, especially for us moms/teachers. Whether you home school or send your kids to school each day, we all want the same things for our children. We want to aim for the same thing this year as years past, success. What does success look like for you and your child this year? Once you figure that out, achieving it can be simple, but not always easy. So, where do you start?

  • First thing is first: Get into a new routine! It takes 21 days to form a new routine, and those 21 days can sure be hard. Find a routine that woks for you, and stick to it. Children thrive on consistency, giving them a consistent schedule will help them to succeed.
  • Set realistic goals
  • Check for progress
  • Make sure your children know their expectations. It’s hard to want to succeed when you don’t know what success looks like.
  • Reward the success your child achieves. Give them something to strive for, stickers, a toy, a day off, what ever appeals to them. If they have nothing to aim for, why bother trying?
  • Make sure the the level they are at is appropriate. Is the work too easy? Too hard? Both can be damaging for a child’s education. Look for signs of boredom or  complacency. It is just as important to keep your child challenged as it is to help them when they are struggling.

Once we get our new routines started, it all starts to come together.

Remember, success is not only achieved by getting the good grades or high paying jobs. Success is measured differently for every one, and we need to make sure to teach that to our children. The goal we set can be big or small, but success is still success, and should be rewarded.

  2. My routines change all the time due to daily life, i think as a beauty influencer i like to have a set beauty routine to cleanse my skin day and night. Incorporating a beauty regime is the best way to feel refreshed!

  3. So true! We always start out good and then fall off. I guess we’re not too far from our routine but it take awhile to really get used to it and stick to it.
