Kickstart Rachel and the #TreeSchoolers

Admit it moms. We let our children watch television. We do it for all kinds of reasons. A moment of peace? Making dinner? How about as education? A little TV can’t hurt, right? Well, did you know that only 1 out if every 8 children’s programs is considered Highly Educational? Estimates are that children watch between 3-5 hours of television each day. So why not choose the highest possible educational content for your children? Rachel Coleman, the Emmy nominated creator of Signing Time, has created Rachel and the TreeSchoolers.

Rachel and the TreeSchoolers is a educational program for pre-schoolers unlike what we are used to turning on for our kids. Rachel and the TreeSchoolers uses Layered Learning. This is teaching multiple concepts simultaneously – like learning about weather, rhyming, and emotional intelligence all at once.

I have seen how highly educational programming is making smart kids smarter. I have used Signing Time to teach my children, and honestly have been shocked by the results! Rachel and the TreeSchoolers is created using a complete preschool curriculum.  The educational framework has been developed by Dr. Emily Swan – PhD in educational psychology and reading, and it really does work!

In 2013 Kickstarter Backers made Rachel & the TreeSchoolers episodes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 a reality. Now, we need your help to make the next 3 episodes.

As of this moment, Rachel has raised nearly $115,000 of her $200,000 goal and she has 3 days to go (the kickstarter ends THIS Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 p.m. MST). If the $200,000 goal is not met, then the new episodes will not be made.

Lets have a say in our children’s television programming. There are only days left in the TreeSchooler kickstart campaign. Every pledge is one step closer to completing the next episodes. Please pledge and support a family funded program. Lets make our children smarter, and give them a head start.

  1. sounds like a great program to get behind. I know many moms who’d like a say in what the children watch on tv.

  2. What a wonderful program! Thanks for sharing!
