Sometimes as a homeschooling mom I wonder if I am able to give my children every aspect of their education. There are so many different courses available that I don’t feel that I am qualified to teach. Thankfully, there are many online courses available to fill these voids and expand the world for my children.

I have to confess, HTML is still very intimidating to me. With all the computer jobs now, I want my children to be proficient in many areas by the time they graduate. finally offers homeschoolers the ability for our children to learn computer programming. There are four courses to choose from:

  • KidCoder: Beginning Web Design (4th-12th grades)
  • KidCoder: Windows Programming (6th-8th grades)
  • TeenCoder: Winodws Programming (9th-12th grades)
  • TeenCoder: Java Programming (9th-12th grades)

Each course consists of 2 semesters. The first semester is an entry-level course for students with no prior programming experience. After completing the first course students can move on to the second semester to learn advanced topics. You can purchase both track semesters together in a discounted “Year Pack”!

We are giving the KidCoder: Beginning Web Design a try. There is so much to learn, and I am thankful I don’t have to figure out how to teach it!

The courses are self studied, so your child can work at their own computer at their own pace. Designed by homeschoolers for homeschoolers, Homeschool Programming is great for any parent who wants to have their child learn more computer skills out side of a school setting.
